Together with the Puertollano Town Council (Ciudad Real), we are developing the social and environmental project “My Green City”, which focuses on renovating playgrounds and green recreation areas in the town, with a view to creating inclusive and accessible spaces made of sustainable materials.
Furthermore, as part of the Our Future is Green (“OFG”) project, each park renovation is accompanied by actions and activities to raise awareness about the environment, to protect nature, to promote renewable energies and to foster social harmony in a sustainable, green city.
In this regard, the Recinto Ferial was opened on 23rd of September 2022. A model of innovative participation for children and teenagers alike, it has several games for all levels of ability, not to mention board games and a big map of Europe that graphically traces the development of energy.
These activities seek to raise awareness among Puertollano children and youth to the importance of respecting nature and the need to enhance our environment to combat climate change.
At Renovalia we are very proud of the important, active contribution made to designing the park by the Consejo Local de Participación Infantil, which is one of the reasons why Puertollano has been recognised by UNICEF as a Child Friendly City.
