At Renovalia, we have been committed to the coexistence of agriculture, livestock farming and solar energy production for years.
Among other actions, we establish agreements with shepherds from the communities where our photovoltaic parks are located, allowing them to graze their flocks of sheep on the land. In this way, we avoid the use of herbicides and minimise the risk of fires. The sheep can move freely among the panels, while being protected from the sun, rain and wind. Furthermore, we promote the development of the population in rural areas. With these agreements, we all benefit: the company, the shepherds, the sheep, society and nature.
In this regard, we have taken another step forward – as we did when we developed beekeeping with “la Miel del Sol”– and have created “el Queso del Sol”, a cheese made from pure Manchega sheep’s milk, through small local producers. “El Queso del Sol” represents Renovalia’s commitment to biodiversity and to the communities in which it operates.
