Renovalia, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility («CSR») programme, supports the development of agricultural and livestock farming activities, such as grazing and beekeeping, at its photovoltaic installations. We promote the local development of the agri-food sector and the maintenance of the population in rural areas.
In this sense, we have gone a step further to develop beekeeping, and we have produced flower honey for consumption, produced in our photovoltaic parks: «La Miel del Sol».
The pollinating work of bees is essential for biodiversity and food crops. One third of the world’s food production depends on them. But the bee population is declining at an alarming rate due to habitat loss, climate change and certain agricultural practices.
As a contribution to the protection of bees, we provide beekeepers with land at our solar power plants to set up their hives, providing them with a perfect environment for their development.
«La Miel del Sol», produced at our photovoltaic plants in Puertollano (Ciudad Real), represents Renovalia’s commitment to the protection of biodiversity.
